Described as “innovative” and “a grand idea” by the Mayor of Richmond, we are proud to have been involved with #BIODance (https://biodance.uk) – a community dance project with a difference!
Take a magical picturesque walk along the Twickenham riverside, taking in the sites of the River Thames, York House Gardens, and Orleans House & Gardens, whilst using the interactive BioDance website on a mobile device along to way to be treated to video clips of performances recorded at that location, and activities for you and your family to try, all while adhering to social distancing.
I think this is a great idea to get people out and about, and making more and more aware of what our surroundings are, and the environment they’ve got.
And I particularly like the idea where you’ve merged art and other themes with it to give it more of an impact for people of all age groups and family sizes so I think great and good luck with it!
CARBON IT SERVICES are proud to support the fantastic Combination Dance Company (https://combinationdance.co.uk/) as their ongoing Technology Partner, with their ground-breaking ideas and wellbeing projects.
We’re already collaborating on the next lot of innovative projects, so stay tuned!
Guildford Saints FC (http://guildfordsaints.org/) is situated in the Merrow area of Guildford. A Chartered Standard Development Club formed in 1983, the club provides training and Sunday league football for children aged between 6 and 17 years. Over the past 5 years they have established a group of Professional Coaches, led by the Director of Coaching Kevin Wilson, who deliver training sessions throughout the age groups in the Club, both Saturday and mid-week sessions.
All volunteers/age group Managers at the club are trained to FA Level 1 standard or higher, they have all attended Child Protection workshops and are first aid trained. Training is offered to all volunteers wanting to become involved with coaching or running a team.
The club is run by a small group of volunteer parents who form the Management Committee. They provide the organisational structure for the club and ensure that there are sufficient funds to carry out training and development of players and Managers/coaches. What a fantastic community led programme!
Especially during 2020, the global pandemic and the resulting measures that have needed to be put in place to control the spread of the virus has resulted in concerns around society’s collective mental health, not least that of young people and their restrictions on interacting with others from their own age groups, potentially hampering their development of social and soft skills.
We’re pleased to be given the opportunity to do what we can through sponsorship of such critical community projects and schemes that foster these important skills for the next generation, helping them develop teamwork and a winning mentality in preparation for their adult lives.
We hope the team can get back to playing soon, and we’ll be sure to be at the sidelines waving our scarves and a sausage butty when they do!
It’s the start of the English Football season, and what better way to celebrate it than to announce our fantastic new partnership!
From the 2019/20 season onwards, we’re proud to announce we are Walton MK Football Club‘s home and away kit sponsors for the Under 14’s Power team.
Formerly Southside United Football Club, Walton MK FC (www.waltonmkfc.com) is based in Buckinghamshire, and was formed in the early 1990’s, formally being constituted in 1992.
Drawing players from the local area initially, the early teams played at Heronsgate and Wavendon schools, but now draws their players from all over Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas.
Over time, further playing facilities have been secured at Swallowfield and Fulbrook schools, and the Browns Wood playing fields. The club today has 14 mixed-gender teams, from Under 6’s to Under 18’s, and nearly 200 players, each supported by FA-qualified volunteer coaches. Some players have even progressed on to neighbouring Milton Keynes Dons FC‘s nationally renowned academy. Very impressive!
“On behalf of the whole squad I would like to thank the team at CARBON IT SERVICES for their generous sponsorship. Our new kit is already having a noticeable impact on the team – they turn up to matches looking like true professionals which plays a key role towards a positive attitude and their overall performance.
We are very fortunate to have been selected by Carbon IT Services to represent their brand, and their support is vital to enable the team to keep progressing. ”
Our partnership will help fund the cost of training and match-day equipment, travel and participation fees, as well as incentives or prize sponsorship for the team to encourage the children in their playing and attitudes.
We’ll be sure to catch a game soon!
CARBON IT SERVICES have recently sponsored Access Dance’s spring event, “Celebration of Dance”. Access Dance (https://access-dance.co.uk/) are a professional dance organization from Surrey, committed to helping young people to become involved in dance.
Working in partnership with schools, local councils and dance companies throughout the UK, they produce collaborative dance performance experiences, and provide training, support and guidance in planning dance as a subject within the national curriculum.
“Access Dance are extremely grateful to CARBON IT SERVICES for sponsoring the Guildford Schools dance festival ‘A Celebration of Dance’. Without their generosity the event wouldn’t have been the success that it was. We were able to give many young people from the local area the opportunity to take part in a dance performance in which we saw them gain confidence, meet new people and be inspired for the future. In addition, they assisted with our digital media requirements, facilitated the design and printing of our programmes, and helped us showcase the event on our website.”
As well as providing funding, CARBON IT SERVICES also provided the technical and multi-media support, and volunteering resource during the event.
It was great to see the range of performers, dancers and artists inspire and amaze the next generation of children to take up performance arts as a hobby or a profession! Photos of the event can be found on Access Dance‘s website (https://access-dance.co.uk/)
